One of my favorite things to do for the kids is to make bible stories real. Maybe because I feel like my faith changed a lot when I started seeing bible stories as history instead of “just stories”. Or maybe because the thing that stuck with me more than anything in Catholic school was when we acted out the “Stations of the Cross”. Whatever the exact reason I am not sure, but I was really excited to host a Passover meal “Murder mystery dinner” style….acting it all out the whole way!
Well, much to my delight, the parents got totally into role which means the kids bought in too. We were in character the entire evening….starting with when they came over and they had to help me get the frogs out of my house….to when we put “blood” over the door and talked about who in our group might be in danger. We ate a Passover meal based on what the bible says they ate that night with the scripture verses printed out for reference.
I was so so excited that the parents bought in to my crazy idea and the kids loved the acting as much as I did when I was a kid!
Here are some of the pictures from the night:
When you came you got assigned a role to play. The red cards Sebastian is holding are those roles.
